Yemi Alade berates Nigerians for taking side in Afrobeat fight instead of ‘facing’ government

Yemi Alade, a popular singer, has expressed concern over the country’s deteriorating economic conditions.

She bemoaned the rise in petrol pump costs and power tariffs, as well as the bad weather and overall cost of living.

The ‘Johnny’ crooner criticised certain Nigerians for taking sides in the social media conflict between celebrities rather than demanding improved living conditions from the government.

Alade stated on her X account, “Electricity tariffs and fuel prices have increased by 400%.” The naira to dollar exchange rate is dancing alanta. The weather is terribly hot.

“People are busy being terrible to one another as costs rise on a daily basis. Salaries have not increased. Afrobeat artists are causing the mess, and you’re taking sides instead of confronting our administration.”
