Africa is blessed with some of the best fashion designers in the world, especially Nigeria.  When we count the number of fashion designers who have made indelible marks on earth, we cannot ignore these talented Nigerians.

In this post, we will highlight ten of these designers who have made us proud with their works.

Deola Sagoe

Deola Sagoe has become a household name when it comes to creating mind-blowing outfits. Whether you want the most complex outfits or something everyone would appreciate, you can think of Deola Sagoe. With tens of awards to her, she has gotten millions of fans worldwide, like Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith.

She is good with menswear, jeans and other beautiful outfits for both men and women. You would love every design she presents to the public.

Ade Bakare has worked for Victor Edelstein and Christian Stambolian before exploring with his Ade Bakare Couture. Twice a year, he offers assortments to Ambers of Amersham, Lucienne Phillips of Knightsbridge, Adele Davis of Bond Street, and others in England and Scotland.

From there, he picked up his design aptitudes and experience. Moreso, Ade Bakare Couture was established in 1991, where he fabricated and offered his own assortments two times per year to and host of different boutiques in Scotland and England. Duro Olowu

Duro Olowu is good in qualitative creative and has earned accolades for work, especially the blue-ribbon fabrics.  He spent time in London designing outfits for many celebrities before coming home. Olowu knows how to blend eclectic colours, rich textures, and varied patterns. He has won the Best International Designer” at the African Fashion Awards in South Africa, and voted the dress of the year by British and American Vogue.

Folake Akindele Coker

Folake Akindele Coker is a Lagos born entrepreneur, who was educated in Switzerland, England and Scotland. She abandoned her law profession to create some of the finest outfits in the fashion sector. She has been the first for many things. For instance, she was the first African fashion creator and designer to appear on the Forbes Women Power List.

Amaka Osakwe

Amaka Osakwe has designed for influencer people like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kerry Washington, Michelle Obama, Issa Rae, Leelee Sobieski Solange Knowles, Lady Gaga, and others. She deals in women’s outfits that have made their debut at many fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week.

Lola Faturoti

Lola Faturoti is a London born Nigerian designer who made a buzz and upstaged Ralph Lauren’s design show at New York Fashion Week. Over the years, she has become a global figure that has conquered my fashion feats that many aspiring designers emulate.
