GAH Awards 2024 Celebrates 12th Edition in Grand Style, Honour Resilient Leaders
The 12th edition of the GMYT Humanitarian Awards -GAH Awards 2024, held last Sunday at Cube 65 Royal Box, Victoria Island, Lagos, was a night to remember. The well-attended event brought together notable figures from various fields, including politicians, business owners, movie stars, and religious leaders.
This year’s theme, “Against All Odds,” aimed to champion the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and honour exceptional leaders driving transformative change in Africa. The awards ceremony recognized individuals and organizations making significant progress in sustainable growth and societal impact.
Princess Oghene, President of the GAH Awards and founder of GMYT Group Limited, while giving her opening remarks, emphasized the importance of building a lasting legacy, rising above adversity, and creating opportunities. “These values serve as motivation for the exceptional individuals and businesses recognized at the awards,” she added.
Keynote Speaker Prof. Lere Baale discussed three pillars of transformation: transforming economic hardship, fostering collaborations, and promoting social inclusion. He encouraged building resilience, fostering collaborations, and promoting social inclusion to ensure a sustainable and equitable future.
The event featured the unveiling of Dr. Oghene’s book, “Against All Odds: Global GAHAwards Chronicles,” which tells stories of resilience and success despite challenging circumstances.
Notable awardees this year included Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), Ayodeji James Ibitoye, Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Wakawaka Doctor. Dr Chima Anyaso: Chairman CEO Cades Group, Prince Adedapo Oluwaseyi Adelegan CEO Celtron Nigeria Ltd, and Lawyer and politician Dr Surajudeen Basiru.
Other awardees: Prof. Lere Baale, CEO Business School Netherlands International, Ex Beauty Queen Lady Sylvia Nduka CEO, Seed Foundation, Rev Esther Ajayi aka Iya Adura and Mr David Olurin CEO Cardinal Torch Company.
The evening was a mesmerizing blend of glamour, good music, and exquisite cuisine, as awardees and guests mingled, danced, and reveled into the wee hours.
