Alleged N4.5m scam: Netizens storm BBNaija Sammie’s page to demand refund

Nigerians have taken to the Instagram page of former Big Brother Naija star, Sammie, to demand refunds over an alleged N4.450 million scam.
Glitedege reports that a man identified as Emmanuel Idakoh had, in a viral video recorded by popular Nigerian videographer, Lucky Udu, accused Sammie of scamming him N4.450 million for a 2025 BBNaija slot.
Calling out Sammie after the release of the 2025 BBNaija audition list, Emmanuel said the reality star has stopped speaking with him.
Idakoh said, “Hi everyone, my name is Emmanuel Idakoh, also known as Young Barby. I was scammed N4,450,000 by my brother from Kogi State, Big Sammie from BBNaija Season 6.
“After my first payment, Sammie asked for another N1 million and if I didn’t have it, he will say he has used his money to give them that I should pay him. There was a time he advised me to take a loan, and the person told me if he’s to give me N1 million I will refund N1.5 million. And when I talked to him (Sammie) about it, he said I should not worry that definitely what I’m going to reap from all of this would be far greater than what I’m losing right now.
“The guy was now asking (for) collateral, that I have to drop my car for collateral. I had to reach out to him again, he said ok he would make a call to be sure that a refund will be done if it doesn’t work out. And he got back to me and said he had verified that everything will be refunded.
“What hurts me the most is the fact that I was not defrauded by a random person but by somebody I trusted so much and considered as my brother. I took a loan of N1 million to pay N 1.5 million. Do you know that at the end of the day, I had to sell my car to pay the loan?”
As at the time of filing this report Sammie is yet to respond to the allegation. Also, he has not replied a message from our reporter, seeking his side of the story.
However, in response to the development, netizens stormed Sammie’s page to express disappointment
