67th Grammys: Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, others bag nominations
The Recording Academy has announced nominees for the 67th Grammys and the Best African Music Performance category is entirely occupied by Nigerians.
American artist Chris Brown, who is the only non-Nigerian artist in the category, made the cut with a song featuring two Nigerians, Davido and Lojay.
The nominations were announced by the organisers on Friday, November 8.
The nominees for the Best African Music Performance category are ‘Tomorrow’ by Yemi Alade, ‘MMS’ by Asake featuring Wizkid, ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, ‘Higher’ by Burna Boy, and ‘Love Me JeJe’ by Tems.
DAILY POST recalls that ‘Water’ by South African singer, Tyla, won the maiden award for the Best African Music Performance recognition at the 66th Grammys.
Meanwhile, the duo of Nigerian singers Rema and Tems were nominated in the Best Global Music Album category.
